Society Support for Cardiac PET
ASNC/SNMMI
Position Statement:
American Society of Nuclear Cardiology recommends that PET MPI, if available, be the preferred modality for all patients who meet criteria for MPI. There are no clinical scenarios or patient subgroups in which the use of PET MPI should be excluded, given its diagnostic accuracy, risk stratification, and unique quantitative capabilities.
ACC/AHA
| Class Of Recommendation | Level Of Evidence | Stress Testing |
|---|---|---|
| Class 1 (Strong) | Level B-NR | For intermediate-risk patients with acute chest pain and no known CAD who are eligible for cardiac testing, either exercise ECG, stress echocardiography, stress PET/SPECT MPI, or stress CMR is useful for the diagnosis of myocardial ischemia |
